Do you mean a 6 x 8 coop or a 6 x 8 run?  If it's a coop, then it "might" be big enough for 20 chickens IF they also have a very large outdoor run.   My chickens are usually only in the coop to sleep and to lay eggs.  The rest of the time, they're out in the run or free-ranging.  As long as they have plenty of outdoor space, you can squeeze a few more in the coop.  However 4 sq. ft per chicken is typically what they need in the coop - which means yours would be on the small side.

It will probably be big enough for the Chicks but not the Chickens. smile.png Little chicks don't take much space but they grow REALLY fast! Normal space requirements for full grown chickens is 4 square feet per bird inside coop space and 10 square feet per bird in the outside run. If you have too many birds in a small space there will be lots of fighting and unhappy birds.sad.png

And how long will it be before they lay eggs? I was thinking about next year.No sure!!! Is there any thing I should be aware of?
