The nest is not hatching!

HI - I have a silkie hen that started setting on april 1st, so now is day 23 and I see no signs of hatching at all. I candled a few eggs and found developement so I know at least some are fertile (hatched plenty last year, same parents) but I have never had an entire hatch like this fail. I have had epic disasters with incubators, but only great success with broody hens. Does anyone have any thoughts?  Thank you!!

Today is only day 22, you count the day after they start incubating. :)

Don't panick, it's normal for them to hatch a bit late. Especially if there were temperature issues.

I especially have later hatches under broodies, for some reason. Was there any sign of internal pipping or

shadowing in the air sac when you candled?

I am no expert in candling, so i cannot say if there was any visible activity.

Still no hatching as of this morning, I could cry.  I was so looking forward to selling

the chicks.

I guess you are not supposed to count your chickens before they hatch.

Thank you for your advice.

WELL!!!  Last night one hatched, so cute. I heard another one peeping, but that is still only 2 out of the 12.  i will keep my fingers crossed for more.

Patience is so necessary in this field.
