Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

It is possible that some of that food is kicked out of the feeder onto the floor. Are you using a feeder our just a bowl?

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes! And I am using both.  During the daytime (if it is warm) I let my chicks play around in the coop I built for them.  In there they have a feeder.  But when I have them in inside I use a bowl.  And your probably right.
