How old are these guys? and gal?

Oh nooo! I'm not really sure how old they are as they didn't know at the feed store. Big Red is at least a week or two older and my guess is that the rest are around 5 weeks.

Straight run bin buyer?    Worse than drawing to an inside straight in poker, when only wanting pullets.  

 

Yes, wattles at 5 weeks is a pretty sure sign.  4 out of 5 seems right to my eyes.

I ordered some girls, but they won't arrive until June 25th. I don't want to have the only female be by herself. How long should I wait before giving away the cockerels? Won't Ameilia be lonely?

When should I find homes for the 4 males? For the females' sake, should I keep them all until the new chicks arrive 2 months from now?

Any possibility of getting at least a couple of local female chicks about the same age?  I'd honestly be tempted to rehome the whole batch together rather than leave one poor chicken alone. I take it you can't have any roosters?
