Nebraska State Poultry Association 128th Annual Poultry Show (2012)

Thought I'd start a thread for the NSPA poultry show coming up Nov 3 and 4, 2012 at the Lancaster Event Center in Lincoln, NE. Its still a ways off, so the meets are still getting sorted, but wanted to get the word out there for all of those interested. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and if you want on the mailing/email list, send your contact info through PM and I'll add you to the list for when the website and catalogs are ready!

This will be a Dominique Club of America Special Meet. To any attending DCA members, there are ribbons and cash awards available if we have more than 10 Dominiques shown by at least two exhibitors. So bring a friend and those extra nice birds and have a great show!

Work with my business partner on American Dominiques in large fowl and bantam,

also keep a few Black Sumatras in large fowl and Coturnix Quail in Tibetan and Tibetan Tuxedo.

I would like to be added to your mailing list for this show... possibly delivering some birds to someone and Nebraska is about half way there. Thought if I would be in the area, I'd like to go to a show!  Fun fun!

I sent a PM to be added but haven't received any kind of a confirmation and its been a week or so.

We raise Andalusians and Campines and we have a few Rose Comb Rhode island Red Bantams.  They are the sweetest little birds!  Working on Andalusian bantams.  Just started this year so it will be a while, I'm sure.

Looking for a pickup I can rent for about a week to drive to this show.  Rental agencies just want too much when it comes to the rental price plus cost per mile.  It will be a long trip.

So, add me to your list please or if you have already, please let me know.

Sorry, I got your PM...just have had some family stuff keeping me busy. My dad's been in the hospital and had his 4th surgery yesterday, so I've been a bit scattered and stressed! I did add you to the list tho!

There will also be sale coops at the show as well that can be rented if you have extras you were wanting to sell while you are there. Where will you be coming from? Sounds like you will have quite the drive!

I live in northern Nevada, so yes, it will be a long trip.  20 hours according to Yahoo Maps!  I sort of know someone who is exactly half way there that I'm hoping I can impose upon.

Can you tell me, are there health certificates and any other such stuff that I would have to comply to in order to bring my birds into the state and/or show them at your show?

here are the health regulations for the show as posted in the catalog for all exhibitors/and sellers:

birds should not be vaccinated within 30 days of show

The Nebraska Poultry Disease Act requires that all out of state poultry entering exhibitions or entering the showroom for sale must be Pullorum - Typhoid clean

No birds that have come from a quarantine facility for disease will be allowed

And any birds showing signs of sickness will be removed from the showroom

Ok, that's easy enough, do they require paperwork?

That certainly seems like a long trip! Hope you will be able to find stops along the way to get some rest! The nice thing is that you will be making the drive during a cooler part of the year, so should be enjoyable

paperwork?  Don't mean to sound pushy, but its nice getting answers right away and I wanted to finish this up before you got offline.

yeah, bring the pullorum -typhoid paperwork with you that you will receive from your NPIP tester, that way you have them on hand if needed. NPIP reps don't announce when they are coming, they just show up, so safe than sorry is my motto when coming from out of state especially
