Old FarmMaster single-tray, still-air incubator

I just recently purchased a ~1950's FarmMaster incubator that, other than the wiring, is in extremely good shape.  I am having trouble finding a replacement heating element.  The current heating element is an approximate 4-inch long, screw base, porcelain insulator with the resistance wire coiled spirally along the insulator.  Does anybody know where I could find one of these?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Great find, looks to me like all you need to do is buy a 7.00 GQF heating coil from Ebay. You will need to unwrap/unscrew the other heating element from this ceramic insluator, and get another coil.

Please put more pictures on here, I would like to see what the incubator looks like.

In the beginning there was nothing. God said, Let there be light! And there was light. There was still nothing, but you could see it a whole lot better. Ellen DeGeneres
also//////// Y'all also need to check out my homemade cooler incubator, my homemade fridge-a-bator, and my cabinet incubator on my BYC page.

Wow, it seems that a lot of these old incubators from Farm Master are showing up lately. I have a cabinet Farm Master hatches 200 eggs it is over 70 years old and fired right up. Will it run with the coil you have?  welcome-byc.gif

If you have ever seen one of the GQF brooders, there is a porcelain insulator, with a heating coil spirally wrapping around the insulator.

I will try to find you a picture, but as I said, the porcelain part of the screw in heater, doesn't need to be replaced, just the heating coil.

Here's that picture, it is a bit different from the GQF brooder heating coil.

Thanks for the info!  After hours searching the internet, you provided the closest thing to what I have/need.  Just to clarify you instruction, I will be reusing my current porcelain insulator, just replacing the coil.  Or will I be reusing my current coil and replacing the porcelain?  Here are a few photos.

A bit of a shame it has so much overspray on it from its original owner.  Should I attempt to sand it off?

Another question.  This unit actually came with two trays; one with the metal screen bottom that fits in the center of the incubator and another with a "cheese cloth" type of material bottom which is too small to fit in the rack positioned at the center of the incubator.  The cloth bottomed tray was lying in the bottom of the incubator when I recieved it.  Any ideas as to what this cloth bottomed tray is for?

I would think that the Cheese cloth covered tray should sit in the bottom of the incubator, sitting in a large metal pan of water, it is most likely for humidity purposes. Thanks for the Pictures. I wouldn't try sanding it, the over spray doesn't look so bad. Could you show a few pictures of the inside too. Sorry, but I would really like to see the inside. Does the porcellain heater screw into the inside of the incubator, or is it on the out side of the incubator, heating large tubes of water.
