Welcome from England. Chicks are great fun and it's a pleasure to watch them develop into individuals.

Tip: Start making a noise before you give them food. I do this, and a "tut tut tut" sound will do. That way, they associate you with good grub and they'll come to you in the future if you make the noise to them. This is handy in case you need to catch one at any time. Mealworms make an excellent treat (although they can upset their tummys a bit.) They love them and making the noise and giving them mealworms will make them LOVE you!

“Perhaps most persuasive [example of intelligence] is the chicken’s intriguing ability to understand that an object, when taken away and hidden, nevertheless continues to exist. This is beyond the capacity of small children.”

If I come across as sharp, I am not meaning to be sharp - just informative and to the point. I don't tolerate fools too gladly.

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
