INTO THE COOP AT DUSK OUTSIDE IN THE MORNING?

My 8 week old chicks don't seem to understand that they need to go into the coop at night and then come on outside when I open their door in the morning.  Do they not naturally know this??  Right now I'm having to encourage them up the ladder & into the coop with food in my hand and then so far I've had to take them out of coop.  I just left the coop door open this morning and left for work. Can't wait to see if they are still inside coop when I get home.  My husbands says chickens are too bright!  Will they learn to do this on their own.  Is there anything I can do to help them.

just be patient. they will be fine. maybe some treats to encourage  in and outs. start out with a pattern. They will get used to it. They will be "normal" before you know it

So, they are not too young for treats? What kind of treat would you recommend? Thanks, can you tell I'm new to all this???

You can give them treats if they have access to grit.

Treats? Hmmm, there are so many. My girls love yogurt and scrambled eggs. And cheese. And grapes. And...yup, it goes on and on.

My sweet lil' piggy chickens.
