Please post pictures of your roost

Here is the roost hubby built for me.. He had to explain what a roost was to me... his explanation was think of chickens sitting on bleachers. So since then I have called it the chicken bleachers.

The tray on the bottom is from Lowe's in the concrete mixing aisle. It's filled with Dry Stall or Stall Dri - can't remember which one right now.

Then we attached it on top with eye hooks & S hooks and bits of small strong chain.
If you position the closest roost bar 18" or more from the wall = clean walls!

I don't have a great photo of just the roosts that I use in my tractors but this one should give you the idea.

It's a typical ladder style made of 2x2s. The top end is secured to the cattle panels directly. The bottom end hangs from suspended wires which is two 14 gauge wires twisted together. Strong enough for a half-dozen turkeys!

We just finished our roosts the other day.... The chicks are still down in the basement under their heat lamp. They should be big enough to go outside in the next week or so.

Here are some pics of the roosts in my new chicken house. I know that some folks frown upon the dowel rods, but I did a lot of research and in my climate, they seem to be fine. We did buy the biggest rods they sell! Hope my chicks love them!
