Rufio looks like a rooster by stance and pink comb.  How old is the chick?

If yours are only a week older than my little one, then you're right - yours is huge.  Either that, or they grow really fast.  I am hoping, hoping, hoping they got the sex right on my 3 pullets.  We're not allowed to have Roos and we'd have to rehome any that turned out to be.  That would be very sad.

So yours is actually two weeks older than ours.  Ours will be two weeks old on Thursday.

Here's Melody my LB at 3 weeks and one day old. She's grown her back feathers already before her wing bows.

I wouldn't say you have a boy quite yet. Melody has a dark pink today due to being outside all day getting a lot of sun.

Shes beautiful! I guess i will just have to wait and see! I'm atleast glad i know what they are now. My 4 yr old has been calling them mystery chicks yippiechickie.gif

i'm hoping for atleast one hen and one roo just so i can hatch out some of my own babies of that breed!!!

I was hoping Melody was a roo, but we picked her out of the pullet bin. I picked a cuckoo maran boy out of the pullet bin, but brought him back. He was a really aggressive chick.

If I ever get a roo, it will be a light brahma. I love the breed and the color of the light.

Here's my dark brahma hen at 1 year old. She's so beautiful and a sweetheart.
