Our first crop of chickens

It's hard to believe that only a few months ago the idea formed for our family to begin raising meat birds!  Last Saturday our birdies fulfilled just what we had envisioned.  Take a look at the whole process! http://thefowlfamily.com/day-of-fulfillment/

That looks awesome. What kind of bags did you use? I'm going to be attempting this in a month. :)

The bags were a double thickness freezer bag.  However, next time I'm going to get a vacuum sealer to put them in.  Do you have someone to help you and with the equipment?  I can't imagine going at this alone the first time around!

Congratulations on your meat.  Have you ordered more chicks yet?  Your blog was really well done and does show respect for the birds.

Thank you so much!  Yes!  Our 2nd batch of chicks are 3 wks old.  We just put them outside yesterday as our temps will be in the 90's today.  Our 3rd batch is arriving next week.  We feel so blessed to be able to raise chicken.
