getting worried - Page 2

In my experience, no matter what I do (medicated feed or not, lamps or not, indoors or not, vaccinated or not) I have lost one bird.  That one came to me in distress and died in week one.  Everyone else has been happy and healthy.

This has been bothering me to and have thought and thought about it. And dh said well the new owners who are not having problems dont post things like ...Hey my 2 weeks old chicks are doing great...Hey all the chicks I brought not one have died lucky me.  We see more post about sick chicks and dying chicks cause that is what this board is for, for peeps needing help.

Not true at all!

We were warned of the same...our coop was built for five, so we got six (day-old) chicks. One year later we have six happy, healthy hens, all laying and pecking at the sliding glass door for treats all day. :D

I took freaked out after reading all the sad stories. I bought 6 (only wanted 3) and luckily all my 6 are still doing great, they are 3 weeks old now. I sure hope all 6 make it cause I would be debastated if one of them died. sad.png

I already want more! My husband... not so much! lau.gif

I have also worried a lot after reading stories, but then thought the same things as your dh.  Usually you hear the sad stories because people are upset over the death, or requesting advice to help the sick chick.  But the ones with healthy chicks are just going about their lives and not posting their success stories.  Reading these responses give us hope!!
