Lost my daughter today ~ found her in the chicken run~ SOOO CUTE I HAD TO SHARE PIC ALERT!!!!

So I am officially in love with our chickens now.. this is how I found my 6 year old daughter today... in the run with her favorite chicken, reading it a story... lol

 

How precious!!!  It's official these chicks have our heart now... lol What do you think?

Awwwwwe! Its amazing how quick our feathered friends can fly into our heart and books lol!
 

Family should never be defined by whether or not your human or animal. LOL! Our Family seems to grow every time I turn around I figure the more the marrier here!

Replied to this post in another section. Just want to repeat -- GET RID OF THE CHICKEN WIRE otherwise you and your daughter will learn the other side of keeping chickens...loosing them.

I just went back and took a second look at the picture after reading this post... First, I want to say how darn precious that is! Kids are something else. My son loves playing with his rooster too.

Second, I am in agreement with ReikiStar, you need to get another, stronger form of fencing or hardware cloth. A stray dog can take out that wire real quick. A raccoon can also destroy that wire in no time to get to your chickens. I'd hate for your little darling to be broken hearted if and when a predator realises what an easy meal it could have there...

At the very least, wipe the poop off your feet before getting in the car.
