Look what I hatched yesterday from my eggs.  Keets

Pearl Grey, Pied Pearl Grey, and WHITE Guineas!  I actually hatched a second white one that was still drying when I took this picture.

This is my first time ever doing an egg swap.  I think it will be very interesting.  I know we cannot choose what kind of eggs we get but will the breed be written anywhere in the box or is it a complete surprise when they hatch and we have to guess what they are?  I was just wondering because I'm not that good at telling what breed a chicken is yet.  I have few that I can readily identify, like Silkies, because that's really obvious!  If anyone knows more about how this works, please let me know!  Thanks!

You may or may not know.  It depends on the person sending.  Some swappers want to know and others don't.  Last summer we were sworn to secrecy and posted our guesses after the hatch.  All we knew was how long to incubate.

Look what I got to add to my BBS for the June swap!  I'll have him in with a splash and 2 black hens.  I got him at a swap from BantieShanty.
