I have a 100 year old home in Sacramento. We have a pretty good sized lot, for being in the city.

I fenced off a side yard for my 2 chickens & they have this 4x8 coop I lock them in at night.

I have a small yard but did fit this coop against the back fence.

We can see it from our kitchen/living room, so can be entertained by the chicks.

it is 4' by 4' and we have 4 hens.

As you can see, my son likes to play in it as well.

The run next to it is 4 feet by 8 feet

i still need to add some finishing touches to it but here is mine. the coop is 4'x4' and 4' at the highest point. all roofs open for cleaning and other access. run is 8'x8' and 4' high on the low side of the top and 6' high on the other side.
