One chick!

Will it be a problem to only have one chick with a mama hen? She had 7 eggs and but only one made it to hatch. Will that baby be okay?  Mama kind of looks sad she wasn't happy that I took the other eggs from her (they were clear).

She'll be fine. I had mommy hens with only one chick before and they were o.k. What you can do is maybe buy some chicks and let her adopt them, so baby will have company.

We had three hens hatch one chick each this summer too. They were fine :)
