Please excuse me for what might be a very silly questions..... What are the offical colors of Silkies and what are ok colors to cross? You know, like Labs; you can cross a yellow with a black and the pups will be approved colors.... Thanks

Not a silly question at all.  Recognized varieties in the US are white, black, blue, splash, lavender, buff, partridge & grey.

You can breed black, blue and splash together; black and lavender together (first generation cross will give all blacks, F2 will give a percentage of lavenders).  The other varieties should pretty much be bred only to their own variety unless you are working on a project of some kind.
