I hatched these four chicks yesterday. I have no idea what they are. Just that they hatched out of green eggs.

I particularly like the one with the chipmunk stripes, they start at her eyes and go all the way to her tail. I've named her Chip. Of course.

The darker one on the bottom is guessed to be a boy. I'll know as soon as I learn how to vent sex. He hatched out of an oblong egg (we're going to see if this old wives tale is true or not).

Hatch rate on these 6 eggs was 63%.
I have 3 more eggs due next week (one of which it turns out was infertile).

I'm going to guess the one with chipmunk stripe is a boy, maybe, ones I had with that turned into real pretty roos. I have 2 with that now, it's neat to watch em feather out and surprise! Mine are mixed breed, I call them Appalachian chickens that all started from chicks an old timey neighbor gave me, all I know for sure is they have old English game.

Bibi 6 weeks.jpg

I promise these were chicks just a few weeks ago! I don't know what happened! They grow so fast!

In this picture, Bibi (White California) is in the spotlight, with a tail-shot of Miss Charlotte (BA).

wow they are very pretty, and I think they are Americanas

I got 1 that has a wide brown stripe . the Americanas lay  the  green eggs and the hens  are called easter eggers.
