Thread Starter

so my girls almost 3 and 4 weeks go out to there play pen in the moring and afternoon with a nap time inbetween I have noticed they have quite a following now with doves and pegions hanging out in same area (I think the birds are grabbing the food the chicks kick out) my chick are safe as far as other birds getting to them as they are cages all the way around and on top but should I worry about the fact these birds are in the same area. should I stop taking my babies out till there older I would hate that as they love out side time they now wake me up in the am and as soon as i open the door they all run out and croawl on top of me they know its out side time.

My city farm:

4 Chickens 1 Buff Orpington Cheerio Rose, 2 Exchequer Leg Horn Lilly & Phoenix and 1 Amber star mix Little Bit.

3 rats Summer, Winter and Spring

3 Dogs: Lab Honey bear, Samoyed Duke, Pit mix Candii

3 cats: Snickers, Kit Kat, Zelda

1 desert turtle Harry

And a whole lot of fish in the fish tank

Do you have 2 coats of chicken wire around the cage? Some wild birds carry some nasty diseases that chickens can get via pooping in water or food. Doves and Pigeons are chow-hounds I noticed, they'll eat as much as they can. (I don't have pigeons here, only doves) Doves are actually very aggressive, but if the chicks are 3-4 weeks they should probably be safe. (so much for the symbol of peace, I saw a pair attack each other and made one bleed)

Good Luck!

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.
