she is new also, so maybe couldn't find the thread, so just bumping. 

I have not read every comment here so hope I am not repeating anything.  I agree she needs to get the laws applicable for her property (if she owns it). It is the neighbors problem if THEY can't do business with Tyson (should of been something they worried about when selling).  I don't doubt Tyson has these stipulations............watch a documentary called "Fresh"..........it's all about big agri and commercial chicken/cow/pig raising - the couple being interviewed also owned a tyson chicken "farm".....they flat out said that the company won't place chickens with them if they don't follow the company's rules.  They even tell them what food to eat and litter to put down etc.  If you saw the footage in the film, you'd be about as disgusted as I am.  So I am not surprised by this.  Since I have a christian, libertarian mindset, both of these folks have the right to do whatever they want on their own property.  If the tyson farmers depended on that property being free of chickens, they prob should of considered not selling it because it isn't their business what someone else has on it.

I hope the OP looks into the laws and exercises her property rights.  People everywhere need to start standing up for their liberties like the Bakers Green Acres folks are doing.

Other chickens being near the tyson chicken farm is not something that can be controlled.  I would guess that the old owners are worried about loosing some of their profit just because it might be a possibility of your chickens getting sick. 

If the tyson company becomes that worried, i would guess that you would get some legal paperwork in the mail from them.

I'd keep my chickens till then

 x2. Sounds like the people you bought your house from may be blowing smoke up your ***. I would for sure ignore them unless and until I got legally served with papers.

I'd tell Tyson ok but when taxs time rolls around you can pay the taxs man. They can't tell you what to do its your land.Chickens are livestock like cows. Just because they are a big company they can't tell you what you can & can't do.

why dont you get your birds npip tested . that should show your birds are not sick . dont see why you could not keep them if you get them tested and if you own the land how they could tell you what to raise on it . you might even have to get a lawer to answer your questions . good luck with this .
