Day 22...Update: closed

Its day 22... no movement and no chirping.

Very Sad.

I was OCD about keeping the temp 100 and 54% humdity. Lock down has been at 100 and 69%.

All 4 candled and showed air sacks before lock down.

1 quarter horse, 1 tuxedo cat, 1 siberian hamsters, 3 dogs, 1 hermit crab, 7 freshwater fish, 5 Brahma chickens, 2 showgirl chickens, 9 silkies, 7production chickens, 12 to be determined bantam chicks, 2 pekin ducks and 1 swedish duck....I should hatch a partridge for the pear tree to round it off.

Don't give up all hope maybe your thermometer was reading higher than actual temp and they are just a little slow to hatch. fl.gif

I've heard some can take all the way up until 25, and in rare cases 28, days to hatch. Hope they're just being lazy and taking their sweet old time. Good luck. Update on an progress. jumpy.gif

I am just finishing up Day 23 and am feeling your pain. I had two early birds hatch and die on Day 18 but nothing since then. I want to candle them so bad just to know if they are alive or not. I was so confident that I finally got this right. I have 25 eggs in there that were all alive prior to lockdown.

I know what you mean about the candling. Grrrrrrr if I could just open the lid for 10 seconds. But I promise I won't.

I keep checking on them hoping for some signs of movement. Or I look really silly bent over with my ear to the incubator trying to hear something...anything!

Still nothing so far.

Still nothing. Really depressing.

My husband just got back with $400 worth of supplies to build me a huge coop. I think he's is trying to cheer me up. Very sweet.

Hang in there I have had. Some hatch as late as day 26 .

I have had the all die during lockdown too, it's depressing.

That's nice of your dh to try to cheer you up.

Were they shipped egg ? I had some that didn't hatch and I thought everything was perfect and all that went in to lock-down would hatch but, it wasn't to be. Sounds like you have a very sweet DH !

Under debate.

My husband swears that one egg is sitting towards its small end than before.

Is that possible? I'm not sure, looks like its the same position to me.
