How do I put my eggs in the incubator??

I am getting ready to put my eggs in my incubator this afternoon. My question is is there a specific way they need to be in there? Can they lay on thier sides, or do they need to be on the ends? Thanks!!

firstly what incubator have you got as different ones require different styles and many adaptaions have been seen some work better than others

 

 

as a rule

 

flat fat end slightly higher then the small pointy end

5 Red Star, 1 Speckledy, 3 Col Blacktails, 3 White Star [Leghorn]  1 Amber Star - All Hybrid Pullets, 1 French Copper Marans - Roo, 2 Lavender Araucanas - Roos, 3 Cream Legbars - 2 Pullets & 1 Roo
