My ducklings hatched yesterday under my broody hen, on day 26 so two days early. One died in the shell a few days ago, so I was left with two. my hen is pleased as punch with them. x

They are so cute!  You have to wonder what the momma hen is thinking though...  hhmmm I know these are my babies but they sure are funny looking...  lau.gif

Bantam Red Cochins, Mille Fluer D'Uccle, Free ranging guineas - Pearl, Pied, Buff, Violet, Lavender.  One RIR hen and one Black Australorp hen (Henny) who is a spoiled rotten pet.  Variety of Maran babies.  One great husband, three kids, and two dogs.  I'm a chick-a-holic so I have an ever changing number of feather kids.

Yes, I know, but she is such a good mum. she's literally taken them under her wing. She dotes on them, watching them, clucks to get them to eat the food that she is picking up and dropping for them. so cute.

I thought she'd freak out  D.gifwhen they first went in the water dish but she was fine. I wonder if they'll pick up chicken habits, such as scraping their feet for food?

They eat and drink as a normal duckling depsite mums best effort to get them to peck! ha ha  gig.gif
