Baby doesn't need to eat for the first 2-3 days. So don't worry! Sprinkle some food around in front of it when it's about 1-2 days old. It'll start pecking it out of curiosity and get the idea soon.

Do make sure there is fresh, clean water available for it though.

Thanks i thought it might be the case of just leaving it be

the food and water is there and available

you say water, i have the water dish there aswell but the chick is also ignoring that too

the chick seems very thirsty as it was panting and i gave it a syringe with wather which is pecked the tip at and drank it all

As mentioned above the chick may not be interested in food for 1-2days.

I put a couple of marbles in my water dish so when the chick pecks at the marble it also gets alittle water too, it works very well but make sure the water level is just above the marble.

This will sound silly but gettin the chick to eat, I tap the crumb with my finger and make a chick noise as mummy would do to show the chick where and what to eat.

Sure your chick will start to eat on its own soon enough!

Good Luck

thanks my wife has been doing the tapping thing

i dont mind waiting for him to show interest as i know usually a chick will get hungry and find its own food

only thing i fear is if the chick dont know how

but i will wait and hope and pray

thanks
