There are two hens in my flock who are exteremely flighty.  Whenever I get near them the go insane.  I've had them for about 4 or 5 months Should I give them treats?  Is it even possible they can change?

20 chickens with another 16 coming soon, "aracaunas " white leghorns, a production red, 3 dogs a buck eye, a possible brama, a couple of modern games, and 2 mixed game hens and finally 5 baby chicks (one died)

Absolutely with the treats! Food is a huge motivator for chickens. Get yourself a baggie full of raisins or mealworms and sit yourself right now in the run with them. You can start by tossing the treats out to them just so they know you are loaded!

Then as time goes on, keep the treats in your hand only. So that they have to at least come close to get them. Eventually even the shyest chicken will feed from your hand. And you may even get one of them on your lap.

It takes time for them to learn you mean no harm. But once they figure out that all you are is a treat dispenser, LOL they will adore you forever.

Good luck!

Mealworms, absolutely.

Some of my girls like watermelon, too.

The birds will come around once they realize you have food. My girls were terrified of me for the first 4 months or so. Mine have little interest in meal worms but they go nuts for BOSS or stale bread. Once one figured out I wasn't trying to kill them when I offered then treats out of my hand they all caught on very quickly. Be careful what you wish for though... When I let my birds out now they won't leave me alone.
