Hi there. We are new here, and semi new to chickens as well. We have many different types of hens, and a few different types of Roos as well. Not totally sure what they all are. We are looking for some help as far as finding others in our area who have chickens, where to get chickens in our area, and finding out more info. We've found the threads here very helpful so far. We are looking to purchase some larger hens. Not sure of what type we are looking for, or the difference between them. LOL Thanks for reading!! Hope to hear from y'all soon! :D

Romans 8:38-39

For i am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

welcome-byc.gif Hope y'all find what you are lookin for

I'm a born again christian and I will not change my ways for any one. Jesus has helped me out all my life even though only in the last three years of my life I didn't ignolige that fact. Even though I'm only 19 I have been blessed with a wonderful husban and two (and a half) wonderful kids of my own I have also had the pleasure of being a mom to my awesome step son. I am very blessed in life...

Google the Henderson Chicken Chart, it lists a lot of different breeds and their charactoristics

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

From what we can see, we're hoping to find some Jersey Giants, a few more Rhode Islands, Barred Rock, Orpingtons, and some Ameraucanas. I suppose we'll see. Can anyone recommend any exceptional online hatcheries?

Helen: Daria, do you have to look at everything in such a negative light?

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
