Hello from South Texas

Thread Starter

Hello!

I have never joined any sort of forum and am hoping I can figure this all out!  :)  I have just hatched my first set of chicken eggs and it was a disaster.  I'm hoping to get to know some people that have done this before and can give me some insight into what I might have done wrong and what I can improve upon as I was heartbroken through this last process.

I have a backyard flock that make me very happy.  I think my children think that I prefer the chickens over them but I do enjoy the chickens and it has been a really fun experience for us all.

I guess that is it!  Hello everyone!

Liz

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan big_smile.png

Home of the world's cutest dachshund, one crazy blue heeler, two cats,
one fat pony, and many (but not too many!) chickens

Can anyone tell me, how many are too many chickens?

Welcome to BYC from BC!  and we just set ourfirst ever batch of eggs.  It was a disaster too, nothing went right, if it could have gone wrong, it did.  But, one did hatch!

SAHM with two great boys, and the best husband ever.

1 Rhode Island Red, 2 Easter Eggers, 1 Leghorn, 1 Silver Spangled Hamburg, 1 Light Brahma, 1 polish, 1 buff Orpington and 2 Wyandottes (1 GL, 1BLR) And 1 barnyard special that seems to be brahmaish (the one and only egg that hatched in our science experiment)

dreaming of a bigger place and more girls......

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?
