New chicken mama checking in from IN

Thread Starter
Hey everyone! I'm new to chicken "farming" but an avid animal junkie and totally excited about this new adventure! We got six chicks about 3 weeks ago, they are about 4 weeks old now. They're not purebred, just an average Rock-RIR hybrid. They are so loving and so much fun!

My husband and I have been building their coop for the past two weeks and expect it done tomorrow. Can't wait to get them out of the garage! I've read almost every chicken book there is at our library and I am really looking to connect with some other peeps.

We're a big family of 6 people, 2 dogs, a rabbit, a hamster and fish... smile.png. We live in a little neighborhood in rural Central Indiana.

Married mom of 3 kids, 2 dogs, 1 rabbit, and 6 chix!
