Candling Question - Page 3

If you hold the egg longways and put the light at the large end where the air cell is, it is easier to see the veining in the egg.  If you could do that and post a pic it would be easier for us to give you a better guess on if it is a viable egg and also how far along.

I tried to hold it the way you mention, and I couldnt see anything.  As I rotated the egg around, I could see movement.  celebrate.gif

I did see very faint veins.  The only trouble I had was trying to get a good pic.  tongue.png     I will wait until Monday.  It would be easier for me to see differences if I wait for a few days and not check every night.

Me, Husband, 2 lovely children, 1 BIL, 5 dogs, 1 hen, 1 rooster, 8 Barnyard Raptors, 3 California White Leghorns, 3 Banties, 11 Black Silkie Bitties, 16 Hatchlings, and one BIG FOOD BILL.  GAAAAH!!!!!!!

Congrats.  Seeing movement is better than see veins, even though the go hand in hand.  I have 2 bantam eggs that are on day 9 and they are moving all over the place.  Best of luck that your one left hatches.  Keep us posted. fl.gif

Sorry you lost egg #1, but to me that looks like an 8 day old egg.  The ones in the example are white shelled eggs I think and yours is brown which makes it harder to see much other than mass.  But I am pretty sure your egg looks like mine did on day 8.  Best of luck fl.gif
