added 2 more chicks to this brood.  I was given two 1 week old (at the time) chicks.  I gave them to mama at night, and she adopted them right alongside the one that she hatched.  I cant believe, they are 4 weeks old already.  The adopted ones are California White Leghorns.  I am pretty sure that I got 1 male and 1 female.  What are the chances???  He just reached into the cage and grabbed two.  Looks like a boy and a girl.  I'll hatch those eggs when they start coming, so I can have more layers without having to worry about broody.  I have a game hen and with the older chicks I have some Buff Orps (I know they are VERY broody) that can raise/adopt the babies.  or i can put them in a brooder box if need be.  I still have the one I built for the older chicks.
