New to fowl: Hatching Cayuga ducks

Hey all,

I've been incubating two Cayuga duck eggs in one of those tiny two egg incubators. It's been 30 days and the chicks both appear to be alive. One has internally pipped (I think) but the other has not. Neither have externally pipped. Is there anything I can/should do?

Also, we purchased three Cayuga ducklings that are probably about 2 weeks old. We bought them to keep the hatchlings company in the brooder. If the babies hatch should we add them to the older ducklings brooder or set them up their own brooder? If the babies hatch I'd like the ducklings to bond but don't want to risk the younger ducklings' lives.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan frow.gif

Be sure to post your question in the Incubation and Hatching section as well.

your newly hatched ducks will need to be separated at least until they are eating and drinking on their own.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes! One little duckie came out today. Had to help him because his membrane was glued to him. My mistake. I'm just so glad he made it. I've made him his own little brooder. Any suggestions on when to introduce him to the older guys? The two week olds have their own big brooder.
