On first going outside...Grass or carrier first?

Thread Starter

OK  Chickies  are heading on to 5 weeks old and need to be outside. coop isnt quite done but soon.

I tried a few 2 days ago put them in a dog carrier and then out in a wire  dog cage 3x2 feet in the grass .

They never would come out of the carrier to the grass . Do i put them in the grass first and leave the carrier in there to run into?Or the carrier and let them venture to grass when they want?

What is the best way?

Thanks for  any help

you should put the chicks in the grass with the carrier nearby, the chicks are used to the carrier, so put the carrier open nearby, so if they want to go back in, they can run right inside the carrier, hope this helps.
