Space heater for an incubator

Has anyone used a space heater in an incubator? The small ones usually used under desks, and has a fan built in. Similar to http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lasko-754200-Ceramic-Portable-Space-Heater-Thermostat-/120696041144?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1a0b6eb8#ht_1107wt_689

i'm pretty new to the chicken scene but I think it would probably be to much of a fire/burn hazard to the chicks our potentially your house or coop

First thoughts ...expensive to run, huge fire hazard and there are better ways to incubate an egg.

I would only use a certain type of heater, I wouldn't use the older models that have the long thin metal wires, much like a toaster for the heating. I would probably try to find one of the small 10" newer models that use heating coils, and a fan. I would still be a bit wary, but that's what I would do if nothing else.

I would use this type.

You will have to buy a thermostat. The heater thermostats wouldn't work. I would turn the heater on Medium heat, and wire it to a Wafer Thermostat.

I think this is what I have in a homemade incubator!

Look at this picture!

The above picture is how it came. It was damaged in shipping.

But I've been trying to figure out what kind of heater/fan combo this is!
