To tell who laid which egg? Without sequestering the hen I mean. I have 1 EE who lays a brown egg, and i cant tell hers from my other brown egg layers. She is my favorite and i want to hatch eggs from her, but dont want to have to take her away from the flock/ coop to find out which are hers.

Is there any way to do this?

I have to hens that are almost identical and the form of the eggs was not.  I noticed that one laid the egg before lunch time and so i keep an eye on what was layed and who did it.  Maybe you can do the same thing with your favorite hen.

I would do that, but my schedule is so full that i cant be around all day to watch her. And i have another broody hen that i want to give her eggs to, as i KNOW some of them have to be fertile. Feisty the roo rides her around like a bucking bronco all day! Its actually absolutely hysterical. He holds on and she runs around the yard trying to get him off!

Hes a little D'Uccle bantam, half her size, so if you can picture it, you will be amused.
