seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

These chicks are around 8 weeks old now and have been working on transitioning to the coop for the last 2 weeks. they were all sleeping on the floor but i guess they figured out they could climb the nest boxes to get into the nesting bucket on top of the barrel.

This is where I found them all tonight... Snubbed the low roosts I gave them so they could all sleep like sardines in a can!

What beautiful chickens!

Mine like to sleep in a big lump also. Maybe one or two will get on the roost. Tonight when I shut them in, I saw one of the silkies nestled directly on top of two bigger chickens, like a chick pyramid. The big ones obviously didn't care.

We have a dozen different breeds of chickens and we love them all!
