Well, we have another name.
One of the EE's has distinct perfect leopard spots on her almost white back-her name is...Diva.
We also have discovered the "Party animal" of the flock-Lucy. All the other babies are sleeping, she will come over and jump right into the middle of the pile. Not to sleep, mind you. OH NO-she wants everyone up and at 'em! I've seen her do this half a dozen times already! Crazy girl!
They babies are narcoleptics. They will be just prancing along, doing that chicken thing, and BOOM! fast asleep. Beak to the ground, then they tip over like a fainting goat.
My kids are totally charmed by them, all have been held, cuddled, snuggled, kissed, and spoken to endearingly. The only one who's not having it so well is...of course...LUCY!! She's going to be the problem child.
The silkies are holding their own with the big girls. I am a little worried that they don't get as much to eat simply because the food seems so BIG, but if I don't feel full crops by tomorrow, I'll make a warm mash for them to pick at a bit, and the grow-gel. They do like their water though.
Henny Penny sleeps with her wings completely drooping on the floor. It's clear she's deep into dreamland. Diva scratches herself into a hole then drops herself into it. Very very cute. The darker of the Buff Orps seems to not mind the silkies sleeping under her wings, so they are always there. I'll probably name her something motherly.
Almost time to go to bed. I don't know how I'll sleep. I worry about them!!
