Introducing the girls to the outdoors.

Hello and good morning all,  I was wondering about introducing our girls to being outside.

They are about 5 weeks old now and we have some pretty decent weather.  Can I let them outside for a while?  Is this too early?  This is our first time raising chickens and just not sure

You should be fine! Just watch, and if they are all huddled up together and acting cold, you will know to take them where it's warm again. :)

I just brought my two barred rock chicks outside for the first time yesterday.  They are about 7 weeks old, now.  I sat with them outside of the run where I have 6 hens that are 2 years old.  The little chicks didn't even want to come out of their carrier!  I gently brought them out to sit with me, and they promptly jumped up in my lap and then on my shoulders!  Wonder if I should try this again but not near the older girls, although they didn't seem interested in the chicks in the least.  I'm hoping to be able to put the little ones outside soon, but this might be tough.  They are still very attached to me.
