What the heck? How did I end up with chickens??

Thread Starter

I've always lived in the burbs, but last year we bought a new house on an old farm property.  First we filled one of the old barn stalls with Nigerian dwarf goats (goats??? what do I know about goats?).  Now, after my wife and kids went to buy goat food at the local Grange we also have 6 chicks, growing very quickly. Not sure what breeds they are (it is written down somewhere) but I do know what my kids named them (Laa-Laa, Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Po, Zelda, and Link).  They've outgrown the first box we had them in and now they've commandeered the garage.

So now I am a chicken farmer!  The chicks are a few weeks old and I'm desperately looking for plans on how to build a coop inside an old horse stall.

Daria: Could you possibly be referring to the harsh light of reality?

Hello and welcome-byc.gif

Have you checked out the Coops page on the site? There are some great ideas there. Many people have made fantastic coops just from spare materials lying round too. big_smile.png
Good luck with your chickens, and don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have. Enjoy the site! frow.gif
