Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat - Page 51

Luckily it didn't kill any of the chickens that ate it, but I was scared for a while.  I really want to start making my own chicken feed, if you have any info here's a thread I started: http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/690074/growing-your-chickens-own-feed

The pesticide must work because I've never seen any bugs over there!sickbyc.gif

I really want to at least replace the scratch I am buying with my own grains.

I recently put up a sign at the end of our drive:

You can't believe how many people stop and ask, "Do you have eggs for sale?'

"No! I just put up that sign so that everyone will know that WE have FRESH eggs and they don't!" barnie.gif

When evaluating data one should always consider the source and remember, no one wants to make illegal that which he wants to do.

All of our money is invested in T Bills.

Hahaha!  Here's your sign!

My sister just came over for a visit and we were talking about chickens.  She's still in training...

Unfortunately we just had a squall line come through earlier today and one of my brahmas got caught in it.  There was some sort of accident and I found her dead outside the coop when I came home.  I was telling her about it and she said "was it the rooster?"  I said no and she promptly responded with "Was it the lady rooster?"   Hahaa!!  I don't think she could think of the word 'hen'....

3 Welsummers, 8 Cinnamon Queens, 2 Easter Eggers, 1 barred rock, 1 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, 1 leghorn/ameraucana cross, 2 RIR and 7 EE/OE chicklets, 6 rabbits, 1 mischievous housecat, one Catahoula bulldog, and one amazing husband to share it all with!  Just call me coop queen!

Life is good here on the Funny Farm ^_^

Member of the Derperella club. We're all just goin' round the rooster here!

It's been my experience that most gym customers are there because of concerns over the way their bodies look, not for health reasons. A gross generalization, I know, but if they're all decked out in spandex and sequins, it's a safe bet.

I just lost my lunch!

I don't go to the gym because all the people there are in great shape and I am in 'a' shape.  But it's not a good one.  All that spandex frightens me!

Here's one I heard today that made me laugh, "If you don't keep your chickens in wire bottom cages they will get foot problems from being on the ground too much."  Isn't that where chickens are supposed to be, on the ground?

This is the link to my swap page.  Nothing on it yet, but will see what I can gather up.  Just thought I would share some photo albums of my chicks as they are growing up.  Spotted Butt is currently my only egg layer but she lays faithfully. Elizabeth is a really pretty white easter egger.  And Fatty, is well just a fatty.  I've been told Black Australorp, or Black Giant.  Either way he is big...

I know, right!?  Poor things must have been miserable until we put them in wire cages.
