Is it ok to introduce 2 one week old Silkies to my 9 member flock? The original flock is approx 6 weeks old and I am worried that since they aren't original members of the "clan", they could get hurt. Besides, they will be much smaller :(

You could try. I have mixed younger ones with older ones and they seem to be okay. Keep a very watchful eye on them though.

Be careful when mixing littles with bigs - if there is any sign of trouble separate them immediately

You'll need to watch them carefully as sometimes pretty harsh pecking can happen between the chickens as they re-establish their pecking order. You should try putting them in the same place, but separated by a wire divider, so they can get used to each others' presence.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have, and enjoy the site.
