So i've had my 2 pullet girls for a week and a half. Louise (buff orpington) has been the somewhat shy, skittish girl. The last couple of days when I let them out to free range, she seems to be checking me out (I stay out with them). She has been getting closer and closer to me..........I don't try to pick them up or mess with them...just been letting them roam while I check the garden or I just sit and watch them. Tonight me and hubby sat out with them (we sat on the edge of one of my raised beds)........they both foraged a while and then kept coming closer and closer to us. Louise kept looking at me and just walked over and jumped up on my arm!!! She sat there for a moment, let me pet her and then jumped back down..and the 2 of them headed off to their coop for the night.
I am still stunned!!! And glad she didn't poop on me too!
Still on the honeymoon with DH........mom to 2 rat terriers, 2 chihuahua's, 1 barred rock, 2 buff orpingtons, and 1 EE......and 1 14-year old!! All smack dab in the middle of the city.
