Backyard Wedding, Ribbons for Chickens?

Thread Starter

I am getting married in my backyard in two weeks. I thought it would be fun/funny if my girls wore bows. Has anyone ever done this? Will they tolerate bows, or try to peck them off of each other? I have 12 chickens - 8 weeks old, I *think* they are all hens, waiting to see if one of them crows! If so, I might need a bow tie too!

Thanks :-)

I have seen people dress young chicks before .. especially for photo ops .. They might not stay on long and maybe you can have a chicken friend be ready to take them off or away if they go crazy .. But its your wedding ! Just get some pictures fast in case ! And Congratulations !

A lady on here dyed her white silkie hot pink for a wedding.  It was adorable.

Good luck with the bows - maybe try it now and get them used to it.

EDITTED because I can't spell.

You could use chicken saddles and then decorate them how you like. They are not that hard to make.

It might work.  I'd say the smaller the bows the better the chances of them staying on lol.png  Good luck and congratulations!

I LOVE my chickens and ducks and geese!  Life just wouldn't be the same without some animals in it...

The person who died her silkie pink for a wedding also put a string of pearls on her, pretty cute. I think the saddle idea is a good one. Bows would be pretty, but there would be a risk of strangling each other.
