Alas, I'm sorry to report that That Chicken moved on to the next stage of the circle of life while free-ranging this past weekend. Either a hawk or a fox is my bet. The rest of them were a little lost for a few days without their fearless leader. Bummer.

Hmmm... I was only going to have 2 chickens for our family. The number went up to 3, then 5, 6, and finally 8. I kept going back to the chick store. I had to integrate 5 to the first three since the age difference. We had them a year then hubby decides to let the kids have new chicks this spring! I do 100% of the chicken work. We added 3 more and up to 12. I'm eating a non layer and I have another layer that lays bad eggs.lol

The integration process is not easy with our hens!

So sorry to hear, I enjoyed reading about this girl, she had a great personality. I bet she at least put up a  brave fight. Well Done You!!!! bow.gif
