I was just looking and could not find a thread on Sultans. I was just wondering who raises these beautiful birds? I am currently raising them and just love them to death.

I wish I did, but currently they're in the incubator! My past set of them (as seen in my picture) have sadly died off, my last one dying last week. Luckily, I have 13 fertile ones in the incubator, and it's day 17 of incubation!

SIlkies, Barred Rocks, Araucanas, Ameraucanas, Rhode Island Reds, New Hampshire Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Cochins, Black Stars, White Leghorns, Brown Leghorns, Jersey Giants, Pied Guinea Fowl, and Lavender Guinea Fowl... A whole menagerie of poultry!

Hi Sultan people, I live in north central Connecticut. I have a 1 year old sultan hen who can no longer stay in the coop with the bigger birds, they are picking on her to the point where they will kill her. If anyone wants her she is yours for free. I just can't stand to see her so miserable, she needs to be her own 'kind'. I even tried her with some 5 week old chick, she is so submissive they went after her. If anyone wants her she is theirs. Just let me know.

Thanx glenann. Your chicks look great. I think my chicks feet r ok they are getting about better today. I think iv just been silly coz my road rock hatched 9 little Appenzellers at the same time and I keep compairing the two and hers are much more active and hardy even though they are smaller. She just knows better than me and it's her first time and my first time with a broody. She just duz it better. All info and help is very much appreciated thanx. smile.png

I have 12 Polish chicks that are almost 2 weeks old. They were much more active right from the beginning than my Sultans were. The Polish chicks also seem to tolerate having the temp lower than my Sultans did at the same age. Would love to see some photos of your new babies big_smile.png
