I have ten pekin duck eggs set to hatch on sunday. This is my first time hatching. I am trying to wait patiently . I can see eggs move and if I listen real close I can hear some pecking but no peeps. Are there some things I should look out for? What did you do on your first hatch? I am a ball of nerves and excitement! smile.png

I know how you feel!! Mine are due to hatch today, and I'm sitting on my hands. I have 3 pips out of 35 eggs. I see a lot of rocking.. I just want to see some zipping! It takes SO long! *sigh* You're not alone. It's my first time as well.

I am so glad to know I am not alone! I am checking every 30 min to see if by chance one has piped. I see the eggs moving and hear pecking. So I am guessing they are on the right track. Hope you have a sucessful hatch! smile.png

I'm on lockdown right now with duck & Toulouse eggs. Already have 6 ducklings that hatched earlier today with one more pipped. Ducks are usually such slow hatchers, but these guys have been fast lol. Congrats on the first one out Aoxa thumbsup.gif

Congrats on the new chick! I am still nervously waiting. I did hear some peeping. So going to assume they are doing ok ? I guess they are making me wait and give me a few gray hairs. Lol

Oh gosh, a little of everything. They're from our flock of Indian Runners, Khaki Campbells, Jumbo Pekins, Pekins, & Runner x Pekins. They really have been super quick with this hatch - 5 more are out and one of the goose eggs is externally pipped. Good luck with y'all's hatches thumbsup.gif

Here are my first two that came out last night! Had two more out this AM, 3 more starting to zip, and 10 with pips I can see! big_smile.png Oh the first time is so exciting!

To the OP: Mine did a lot of chirping before pipping. Once they pipped, they all rested for at least 6 - 12 hours. Once they started zipping it took as little as 30 minutes for them to be free!
