Water container and marbles

We have been putting marbles in the chicks water tray since they came home 3 weeks ago...can we stop this now? It is so much fun cleaning it out with the marbles and wet cedar shavings inside. I don't think they would drown anymore but this is my first time raising chicks. Would love your help please?

I don't use any marbles in my waterer, but at 3 weeks old you should be well past drowning age. Take the marbles out, raise the waterer up with a price of wood or brick and give yourself a break wink.png

I only use marbles or pebbles for bantams when I first get them. :)

I use marbles the first few days. I really hate refill time with them. I don't use shavings at all. I use alfalfa greens. Sometimes my chicks perfer greens over feed & they don't get it in their feed & water as bad. I bought some shavings. Just too bothering to me. I don't like my chicks eating it at all. Just not healthy
