Hello from Hunterdon County NJ

Thread Starter

Hi everyone!  I am soooo glad I found BYC.  I am finding a wealth of information here.  My daughter and I will soon be the proud mamas to 8 variety breed bantam chicks all set to hatch the week of May 14th.  Some from mypetchicken and some from a local farm.  If we are lucky we will be onsite when the ones from the local farm hatch (they will call us so we can watch if possible).  I am sure we will be here on a daily basis for support, information and a smile.  At this point I'm just hoping for happy healthy chicks.

Because of this site I feel better prepared for the new little peepers that will soon join our family. Dear Hubby built a fantastic and very safe coop/run and my son is looking forward to naming one or two.  Daily care will be for me and my daughter and we can't wait.  Now if I can just get the dogs on board with this I'll be sylin.' I'm guessing since they don't bother the with the hamster even when she rolls her ball up against their bodies a few chicks shouldn't bother them - fingers crossed!  Of course they will wonder why one of their old dog crates has turned into a brooder but I'll explain it to them later.  smile.png
