Really dumb question about my chickens and the rooster down the road.

I'm hearing crowing in the morning so the folks down the road must have gotten some chicks and ones a rooster. My chicks when they hear the crowing stop and listen.. I was planning on letting them lose and let them graze the back fenced-in acreage when they are older, but now I'm wondering if they will go off hunting for the rooster to join his flock.

No they should stay in your yard. I have roosters all around us and no one has ever left, they've came back, but never left.

I agree. I have another flock only about 100 yards away and a very fiesty yard cock. He never attempts a visit........Pop
