Can a chicken lay bad eggs?

Some of the eggs I am getting have a film around them and look almost like they are poached.  What causes this?  Are they ok to eat?

Do you mean that they looked poached straight out of the shell?

Sort of.  They have a cloudy film.

Are you cracking them open straight from the hen with out sitting at all?

I collect them daily and put in the fridge.

The reason I asked is that very fresh eggs have dissolved gasses in the whites, sometimes making the white a little cloudy or well white.  The gasses come out after a few hours sitting.

So are fresh eggs supposed to sit for a while before using or refrigerating?  I always bring them in and put them straight into the fridge, is this wrong, or ok?

Nothing wrong using them straight from the hen.  Or refrigerating them straight away.
