Raising Baby Chicks

It is hard rasing chicks because if you dont have a coop and all you have is a dog kennel then chickens are running all around your yard but i think its cute i wonder if any of my chicks are roosters there about 5-6 weeks of age but i dont know because the people i baught them from said 4 weeks and ive had them for two and i had chikens before and they dont look like 4 weeks.

Those chicks are going to get big fast - so get going on that coop!  Chickens don't care if it's fancy.

Predators are incredibly swift.  I lost my favorite hen when I zipped inside to turn off the coffee maker.  I would hate for you to lose one of your babies.

Best wishes with your flock and welcome-byc.gif

Whoever said don't count your chickens before they're hatched clearly never tried to count chickens after they're hatched.

If they are really 4 weeks is you should be able to see if the roosters are getting combs, course it may not help if they get pea combs... good luck though.
